Otherwise it's either the Ridgeback MT20 or Spesh Hotrock. Worth the extra £130? I had a budget Decathlon road bike a few years ago that compared very favourably with the Spesh Allez that was twice the price, but £100, I'm wondering if that's too cheap?

The £300 road bike got a cracking review so I think they can build decent stuff for bobbins
FWIW I was in Decathalon yesterday and their own brand stuff loked like it was good quality for the price though YMMV.
I have the ridgeback and a Kona something or other
TBH i am not sure what extra I have got for the money - still heavy, forks dont seem to compress much if at all [ i keep looking at getting some rigid forks but never any at a good price]
It will only get a couple of years use anyway and the way my kids just fling them on the floor i am glad they were second hand as I would be doing some screaming if they treate dnew bikes like that
Cannot comment on that model
Only two things matter - can the brakes be adjusted so they can reach them
Are the gears light enough they can turn them without stopping to do this- any store near you ?
Couple of hours away in Glasgow, but heading down at weekend anyway so can take a look.
