New store just opened in Edinburgh a few days ago , Nipped in this morning and got a Vango 35ltr rucksack , Water bottle , bike lock and Gloves for £29.99 . 😀
Now I know their not a new phenomenom in the Uk but the quality of the own brand B'twin stuff is pretty good. My £6.99 gloves are better quality than my 661 gloves that cost £15. Also the £499 rockrider with recons and Sram 5 is amazing value.
Anyone know if they do Cycle2work . ?
I thought you could arrange your own cycle to work.(?)
Decathlon do a full carbon 105 road bike for £999 so that'd do nicely.
Their stuff is invariably good quality and inexpensive, I've shopped there for years. Great own brand tents and bags. Most of the clothes are an odd fit however, maybe the French are generally shorter and squatter than UK types?
There canti mount rear fender is ace for £7 🙂
They need to become Magicshine stockists for us lot too! 🙂
I do find french clothes are a bit squat in the body. My mum lives in france and clothes she has bought me are all a bit squat!
Some nice french birds obviously brought over for the opening in attendance today as well. They have a £90 vango 4 man tent on offer for £39.99 for the opening week. Wonder If I can get It for my 70 year old mother in laws Xmas knowing she will never use It. ?
They have the full Vango range Paul?,
Im after there wee 1kg hoop tent
Don't know about "squat" sizing, but their large definitely isn't.
The summer gloves are good, the winter ones I got there weren't. Still, it's not like they were massively expensive, and they're fine for walking the dog.
Bruce not the full range most of the stuff Is Quechea own make, Go Outdoors In Newhaven have the full vango range but they are dearer.
Got 2 pairs of lycra shorts a few years ago, and they have a guarantee of 2 years, so if i can find the receipt theyre going to go back and get replaced.
I live too far away from a Decathlon shop nowadays and miss their keen prices for top notch kit.
they do mailorder.
Decathlon sizing is pretty weird.
£2 for a sledge
The Edinburgh one's not as good as the one at the Fort though, quite a bit less choice. But I have to say, the staff are amazingly attentive and well informed- I was just looking at shoes, next thing I know I've got a gait-checking doobrie strapped to my leg and I'm running up and down the aisle to see what sort of shoes I should get. End result after about 15 minutes of excellent help was that he recommended me the absolute cheapest pair in the shop. Superb really. And from what's basically a supermarket.
I was in there yesterday. What was the kids wearing decathlon uniforms flying about on scooters thing all about?
Their new Bolton store opens this week.
Top store - excellent clothes. Do not forget the running gear for cycling too.
