Hi all,
I excitedly took delivery of my new magicshine xml led light this morning (link - this one)and after a couple of test on/offs it's stopped working ๐
I've had 2x dx lights already, one I still run and the other I sold so tried a different battery and all I get is a brief flicker of the led when connecting a battery (checked with a fully charged one) and then nothing, no colour on the switch and no response to pressing it.
I managed to get the reflector off but can't see how to get into the rest of it behind the led to check for any bad connections though I'm guessing it's more likely to be driver related? As the led does flicker it's presuambly getting power and the led still works but something in the driver isn't right? Anyone any similar experiences or managed to fix them?
Any help appreciated.
Andrew.
Do not dissassemble - send it straight back for a swap. Insist on airmail. They're pretty good with returns if you get them back pronto.
Have you tried the lamp unit with other batteries? (if you have other DX ones)

I'll look into the returns, but was of the assumption I'll need to pay the return postage?
They only mention reimbursed shipping for customers in the USA. Contact them:
They refunded my postage when I sent a torch back, and the returns service is really good. You only need send them a copy of the proof of posting and they'll send you a new unit.
I got mine from magicshine.co.uk and got a new light unit by return of post. They cost abit more but there's no faff sending the back across the world.. My light went after three rides (not big ones either)

Wowww there buddy, I think they charge a little more than "bit" extra, and as said if you email DX the proof of postage they send out the new light before recieing the old one back
