My 10 speed SRAM X9 rear mech decided that it had enough and committed suicide by the whole chain plate assembly parting company with the body. I now need to replace it but I'm contemplating going over to shimano. Now I know I need new leversas well as the mech its self but I can't see what difference there is between slx and xt. I already have a set of xt brakes so I can get an ispec b shifter set. I'm also planing on going to 2x10 in the near future and I know that the xt allow you to swap between 2 and 3 on the front does slx?

Yeah, think the SLX does 2\3 as well

Id go SLX myself, I can tell my difference between my SLX and xt shifters
And slx mechs work just fine, more durable than stam ime too

Yes SLX does let you. I have SLX and they are ok. I prefer Zee and I think I would prefer XT too.
