After having wear on the stanchions of my fork I changed the seal. After about 5 rides the stanchions have dirty oil. They are much stiffer than they should be- out of the saddle pedaling doesn't cause any bobbing where it should.

So do I

A) do an oil change again, significantly earlier than normal

B) bin them and replace them as they are from 2008.

If I replace them what is the ultimate 26" straight steerer fork? The wheels can take qr or 15mm

Cheers

A

kill them til they truly die. I've got a set of pikes that look like that - once they're done I'll swap them for the spare set I've been hoarding

Tempting to ride them till they are totally dead- how to decide when totally is? They don't move much now and were stiff after the new seals

Get some felt seals and use gaiters on them. Just like a 1960s British motorbike... ๐Ÿ™‚
