I'm putting a list together for a mate. So far I have:
Cube Agree GTC Race £1850 (okay not quite sub 1800)
[/img]
Cannondale SuperSix 105 (1800)
[/img]
Colnago Ace Veloce 2010 (1700)
Colnago Ace 105 2010 (1500)

Any others I should be looking at?
Any comments on the three above?
He doesn't want Ribble, Boardman, PX etc. and he likes something colourful. Carbon only.
I've just bought a GTC Agree
I have the supersix but with ultegra.
Fantastic frame. Very stiff with amazing acceleration.
What sort of riding will he be doing? The Agree is aimed at Sportive/Comfort riding, more like a Synapse than a Super Six (so the Synapse would be worth considering too).
boardman carbon pro

Not colourful but high spec and low weight and lots of shiny carbon.
Felt f4

More colourful almost as light.
Both easily under 1800
I went for the boardman as i like the sram double tap. Alot dont like it.
Six has got good reviews, but as said above what kind of riding. Synapse is definately worth a look.

Good review of the Cannondale over on Road.cc
They seem to like it.
My gut feel would be to go for the best frame at that price and not worry too much about the groupset etc. So a cheap Cannondale/Colnago rather than an expensive Boardman.
If the geometry suits and your mate can live with the short head tubes (at least they are 10mm longer than the old style 2010 models) then take a look at the 2011 Felt F5 for £1700 - only 105 mind. Felt make some fantastic frames.
buy used, get 5k worth for 2k
cheers all
I think I'll prsent the folloing to him:
Cube Agree
SuperSix
Wilier Mortirolo
Colnago Ace
and let him decide. He wants new, not s/hand and sizing/headtubes are less important as he's a shorter fella so will ride a small frame anyway.
I think the Cube gets the nod personally.

don't confuse geometry and size. As Onion pointed out the S6 and Agree are aimed at different customers.
For example:
Comfort - Agree
Race (as requested) - S6
In any given size then the geometry of the frames will be different. Perhaps a practical demonstration from your local dealer may help. Tell him to have fun!
