The front brake on my old road bike is a bit on the stiff side. It engages, but doesn't open. Cable is smooth, take the brakes off the bike and it all mover freely, but when its bolted up, the spring force just isn't enough to open it. Obviously, something needs cleaning out but what?
Shimano R-450 I think.
cheers.

Happened to mine.
Just put oil near the pivots, and worked it in off the bike.
Taking apart looked tricky.

new brake off ebay. not worth messing with unreliable brakes. Alternatively, take the pads off and soak it in penetrating oil. But for £10 off ebay, my time is worth more than that so it's a no-brainer.
