[#1182515]

Gonna treat myself to a SL Pro carbon frame and forks. It has an integrated type headset - there seem to be a number of different types out there (and Planet-X out of stock).

Anyone know what type I should be looking for (and any recommendations?).

Ta.

You just need the right bearing angle degree wotsit thingy. Can't remember what it is off the top of my head 36/46? Someone will tell ya.
Now wasn't that the most helpful reply ๐Ÿ˜€

You could always phone them and ask what headset they recommend you fit ๐Ÿ’ก

There are two that are quite close. I think it's the Ritchey spec one you need.

Sorry I do have a Planet X Carbon Pro but not with me. Once you have the type (something to do with the angle of the bearing faces in the frame) you just decide what you want to spend. IMO basic FSA ones do a fine job.

Not the spec that fits Kinesis frames I do know that.
There another blindingly helpful post from me.

OK I'll stick my neck out.
I'm pretty sure you need a 45/45 integrated headset. Not a 36/45 like those on Kinesis frames.

As mentioned above i think the 45/45 is the "Campagnolo standard" and is what most road bikes take and the 36/45 is the "Cane creek standard" which is whats on some mountain bikes, but just to confuse things either can have either, but i agree with oldgit i think the PX is the 45/45 one.

Go for FSA.
I've got that same frame and forks - the stock planet x headset didn't last long - it'd been clicking for a while and eventually started knocking, so I replaced it with

which has been fine so far
