[#609430]

Will a newish style Shimano 7800 (not the brand spanking 7900) duraace crankset with external BB fit a Santa Cruz Blur. Is the bb shell of a MTB to narrow to fit a road crank?

Think it would look good but dont want to buy one and try and fit it as the shop wont take it back, anyone tryed it?

Cheers J

If the Blur has a 68mm BB shell it should fit fine. Don't think it will fit a 73mm shell.

But would you want 53/39 chainrings on your MTB? And would the front mech fit around the suspension linkages on the blur if it was above a 53 chainring?

and might the rings foul the stays (or are you putting smaller ones on)

(whatever happened to the guy with the anthem and the crushed BB ??)

probably find the crank arms foul on the stays regardless of ring size.

Then you're a moron! ๐Ÿ˜‰

You can't fit smaller than a 34t inner on there, so you'll need some fairly big legs. Unless you buy a triple, when you can have a 30t inner.
