Heard a rumour the trails have been dug up/destroyed.
Does anybody know?
Afraid so, I've not seen first hand what trails the council have flattened but I don't think its pretty.
Such a shame as IMO they really weren't hurting anyone and its a great spot for the yoof to do something positive.
Give it a few weeks for the heat to die down and the trail fairies will be out in force
Sorry to hijack but I'm only the other side of Warrington and never heard of these trails. Worth a ride over?
That is a shitter.
Thought Redrow (could be in partnership) were/are trying to obtain planning permission to build a housing estate on it?
@jree Not anymore by the sounds of it! They were really fun feature packed short trails in a small area. The soil there is perfect some of the nicest loam I've ridden.
Yes, the council (or others?) have been through with a digger and trashed a lot of what was there. Not really surprising - they are at best "cheeky" trails, which are tolerated just about, but people have gone mad recently digging fresh trails all over the hillside which has no doubt pissed off the rangers. Have also heard there was some sort of organised event there recently, which will just make matters worse, so no surprise. They have flattened them before in the past and it generally dies down for a while, so with some luck they'll be rideable again soon with minimal work.
