Please be gentle.... like an absolute muppet i've managed to damage my seat tube on my Cannondale F3 frame after fitting a chain guide. It's caused 2 large dents on the sides of the tube and 'crimped' the tube in the middle distorting it slightly, pushing it out approx 2-3mm. So......is it rideable or is it scrap? No need to tell me what a w*$*er I am for doing it, I already know ๐
pics of the damage would help?
where, how bad, photos?
The seat tube "should" be ok if it isn't too bad, i had a nicely dented down tube and that was fine.
But keep an eye on it.
It can't hurt, if you are the original owner, to ask Cannondale if they do a crash replacement deal if it is bad.

I stripped it down to the alloy to see if there were any cracks etc. The line you can see down the centre of the bare section is the crease. Cheers
Will be fine
I've seen a carbon frame that had cracked due to similar levels of ham fisted spanner monkeyness, and the guy fixed it or disguised it by using a front derailleur clamp made of carbon that was like a sleeve rather than a band.
Could be an option just to prettyfy it?
Thanks for all the replies, I'll keep on it and see if it develops any cracks etc
crikey you mullered that a bit. But should be fine.
Ought to bookmark this for all the carbon haters/alu fanboys.
Suspect itll be ok, but you'll want to keep an eye on it!
I've got bigger dents from rocks in my down tube, not had a problem yet.
Totally ham fisted, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
'Totally ham fisted'. That's very polite....:)
