I've been told the black at Dalby is closed. Just wondering what the red is like. There's a suggestion it's a 4 hour loop. I know everyone's different, but what's a good time for the red?

2 hours - I can't believe it takes anyone 4 hours unless they're really making a meal of it...

I can't see how all the black is closed but I haven't been there for a couple of weeks

Anyway the red is great if you attack it, if you like like to stop a lot & take your time it doesn't really work
2.5 - 3hrs is OK for the red

Said it before but start from the visitor centre, mix up the good bits of the old red with the good bits of the new red as far as Dixons Hollow, then take the new red, doing the black options as far as the shore sections at the top of Crosscliffe where you'll now be on the black, down one part of the V, up the other half and then cut up the fire-road back onto the red after missing the really crap part towards the Langdale end of the forest drive. Stick to the red for the remainder of the ride.

Off to Dalby to do Red this weekend! Although don't reckon I will be under 2 hours.

Red as I seem to remember you get a bit spoilt, the last couple of miles you are thinking, oh not more great single track, oh there's some more. You get bored at the good quality of it all. Does that make sense? No variety as it is all good stuff. Probably what uplink is getting at.

Should be fine on a crosser but more fun on a mtb.

Hi DBW,

Wouldn't happen to have a gpx file of that would you?

Cheers

We were there on Friday and all of the Black and Red were open.

The only closed sections at the moment are the new section at Crosscliffe, and the optional black up at Whitecliffs. Also, there's still the closure of the final switchbacks into the visitors centre area as the contractors are still busy with the WC course.
