Looking at getting an xt clutch 10 speed mech.
Was wanting to use my front double cranks, and, just cos I'm lazy, leave the stinger on..
Possible? Advisable?

Doubt it'd cause a problem but the stinger would be rendered unnecessary by the clutch .
You could always just remove the roller if it adds any unwanted friction or noise .

That's kinda what I thought.. Oh well-
good condition stinger and 9spd xt bits fs soon!

I'd try it with the stinger anyway, then take the roller off to try it without

Will give it a go then.. Bits prob won't arrive till new year, what with the Christmas post and all..

The stinger performs an entirely different job to a clutch mech.
Clutch simply keeps chain tension stinger holds the chain in place behind the ring and keeps it in line.
