Looking at possibly doing the Cytech Level 3 suspension unit later in the year.
My Level 2 covered a basic fork & shock service - lower leg/air can which I'm OK with doing.
Led to believe the L3 covers damper service etc. - but it's only 2 days.
How much content is there on the course?
Thanks
I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but I did one, I found the price inflated, I had to travel to far, I wouldn't do it on the rebound, I found the limited time too much pressure and they tended to blow through the content, I achieved the crown status qualification but to be honest I was just another course drop out & that the tutor didn't steerer us through the modules.
Werty are you suggesting you would have made a U-turn if you had realised?
@qwerty - love the puns! Lol
So reading between the lines not that great then?
I'll admit that £450 for 2 days is steep.
But can't help think it's better to balls it up on someone else's forks than mine to start off with!
How much does the qualification mean to you? - that is the only measure of worth really, what are your motivations?
£450 to learn how to fully service a fork, just because you're interested in forks, would be a joke. But having a cytech level 3 because you need it to work, or for your business, might be a bargain at £450.
£450? I want to be covering reshim theory for that sort of money. However, if I did the course, it would just be for fun.
£450? Christ, just follow the instructions online.
Why would anyone with mechanical aptitude ever need to do that?
Just follow instructions online if it's for personal reasons. If you need it for a job then it's what you need to do.
Anything to do with shims etc, while they may teach you how to take it apart and put it together with some theory, it will take years to work out how to translate shim stacks into on the hill performance imo
Buy a cheap and broken "for spares only" fork off eBay to practice on and
Just follow instructions online if it’s for personal reasons.
Thanks all.
It's a bit of both - personal and business.
Personally it'll save a fortune on servicing 4 sets of forks on the home fleet lol
Business it'll be another service I can offer on top of the regular repairs & servicing etc.
