[#10508086]

For a while their contributors have been able to put an anti Team SKY angle on the majority of their articles but I was just stupid enough to look at the comments attached to the articles and their forum. Rabid doesn’t do justice to some of the comments, particularly some of the ones relating to Ben Swift’s accident jump over the boundary of wrong into scary territory.

I’m not a Sky fan and I’m sceptical about some of the TUE certificates. The last rider I believed was clean was David Millar, which turned out well. I still follow professional cycling because on the whole I believe its cleaner than say ten years ago, and regardless of what they are sticking in their bodies riding the spring classics at an average pace I can probably hold for a sprint is incredible (probably the wrong word to use on a post partly about doping).

There seems to be no understanding that fundamentally its the funding system which is wrong with rich and poor teams not getting any revenue from TV rights etc. I might have got this wrong but the idea of the Pro-Tour was to put this right but the UCI backed down to ASO and the other race organisers.

Unless all the big teams or riders boycott the classics and grand tours nothing is going to change but this isn’t going to happen because of self interest. I understand that the careers of riders, DSs, mechanics etc are short and that if the sponsors don’t get coverage the team goes out of business but until they do everything continues in the same shonky way.

Oh well I better join in an post something vicious about Dave Brailsford

You’re not wrong.

There are people on there that make the comments on the Daily Mail seem sane

I find the comments entertaining. But I don't comment despite my contribution to Sky last year. There are one or two diehard Sky supporters there who do use logic to try and defuse and inform. I've chatted with them offline. But I think it's a waste of time on that site.
