Thought I would share with everyone one guys adventure which is under way at the moment. He is cycling solo from London to Brisbane, 25,000km in 14 months, in time for the Ashes cricket series in November. He is also playing a game of cricket in every country he passes through, so is carrying a cricket bat with him too!
I was lucky enough to ride with him on Sunday out of Hyderabad in India, heading east.
Being interviewed before leaving Hyderabad:
He is riding for charity, the Lord Taverners and the British Neurological Research Trust, aiming to raise £100,000.
Have a look at his website cyclingtotheashes.com which has links to his blog, twitter updates, vidoes and ways to donate.
I have met few nicer people, and he is undertaking an amazing task. His bike fully laden weighs more than me, and while eating lunch on Sunday, my cycle computer was reading 53 degrees in the sun!
I would encourage everyone to have a look at his site, his writing is insightful and inspiring, and any donations would be gratefully received.
Also, if any of the worldwide STWers happen to be along his route, any encouragement and hospitality would I'm sure be very much appreciated.
Cheers Rich
