MTB or road?

I've heard these are good for the larger gentleman

Galibier or assos for bib shorts.

Some Castelli bibs (eg. Endurance 3, Aero Race 4) have a superb pad and well worth buying in a sale, the price of my first pair last summer made me wince a bit, but I happy grabbed another after finding they were so good compared to the ~£40 max brands like Funkier I've bought before.

Hybrid and erm no more than £40 or there abouts.

When you say 'cycling shorts' do you mean lycra bibs, lycra non bibs or baggy mtb shorts?

I got some nice Pearl Izumi one from freewheel the ohter week for £30 ish. I got XL and they fit nice, i'm a 36-38" waist and biiiiig thighs....

Probably baggy mtb shorts really don’t think Lycra would suit me.

Really comfy pad and durable. I wear them under baggy mtb shorts for mountain bike and just with a road top over them for road biking from time to time (also have endura fs260 bibs which I mostly use for road biking but they’re a chunk more expensive).

Giordana bib shorts under Endura Humvee shorts for me as a large gentleman
