[#10795782]

With the end of the £1k limit I was looking at using Cycle to work to buy a carbon YT or Canyon trail bike. (£2.5k, 47% "off" feels pretty good) But my works scheme is Cyclescheme, which is not accepted by either of them.

Theres no way round this is there? I need to think again- is that right?

Nope, you'd need to get your work to use the green commute initiative instead/as well as.

Yeah, think it's only the green commute initiative that offers canyon, YT as a German direct to buyer will probably not be on any for a while.

Only option is maybe speak to cyclescheme and see if they're thinking of adding canyon in the near future, if not, then see what else is on offer, loads of choice out there similar to YT/Canyon.

GCI will work on a one off basis, as long as youve not got a big company and hr dept to deal with very likely you can get one through work. Ask the question, id assume as a higher rate tax payer youre valued enough to not make an issue of it, theyre still saving nic either way.

The £1k limit lift relies on the scheme and your employer both agreeing to raise the limit (notwithstanding firm's with a consumer credit license such as HSBC who have always offered £2k).

As it stands the mainstream cycle to work type suppliers all seem to be sitting on their hands with regards raising the limit (probably working out how to make the most £££ out of it whilst staying compliant).

My workplace uses the Halfords run Cycle2Work scheme. They have told people in industry they have no intentions on reviewing the £1k limit in the short run. My employer is huge and will have zero interest in using GCI, it would take me months to even work out who to talk to.
