Not been to any show of this kind before and was pleasantly surprised
at how good it was after the negative comments here. Great to meet Jens Voigt and his interview with David Harman was enjoyable too. We walked around for about 4hours so plenty to look at. You might not see anything new and the number of electric bike stands was a surprise but I thought it was worth going to.

Glad to hear it, will be there Saturday. Can't decide whether I'm looking forward to it or not after the other thread but this helps 🙂

Weekend off, shiny bikes and stuff to look at and I've just been paid, it's got to be worth a visit.

I am sort of with Jedi, very little MTB, full bikes where about, but like he said no SRAM or Shimano MTB there new 11spd Di2 was there thou.
Hope was there, USE, Exposure with there new lights and carbon rims.
Upgrade with X fusion forks and dropper post, RWD brake pads.
A cool little water resistant pouch that works with atouch screen phone inside so need to take it out. oh and Torq

I had a good day, checked out a few new bits, chatch up with friends and some networking.

Jedi- Saw you yesterday surprisingly supping a coffee 🙂
Thought the show was shocking unless you're a proper roadie, even then it wasn't all that by any means.

The BMX boys were pretty much the stars of the place, if I'd have paid £13 to visit I wouldn't have been to happy esp given the cost of refreshments at the place!

Sounds the same as last year then, mostly road and CX with smatterings of fixie shite and some MTB stuff that wasn't particularly exciting or cutting edge. Given I ride road as well though I enjoyed it, not planning on returning any time soon though if the format remains the same. I also thought the BMX demo was a bit dull, maybe I've been spoilt watching pro contests on TV...

I was there yesterday helping out on a stand - If I was interested in high end roadie stuff, great! I'm not... I like 26" wheeled, steel framed bikes!

I did chat some very nice people though!

If you are going this weekend, stop by the UK Youth stand and have a chat with Catherine! 😉

I'm going up tomorrow. Usually steer clear of bike shows tbh but I'm in the market for some new bits, so thought I'd scope out some at the show before I find cheaper ones online. And wanted to try out the Trek Fuel and DMR bolt on the Dare2b test track. I think if you're looking to buy stuff they're handy, but otherwise a waste of time. Hopefully I'll find something of interest tomorrow.

Went yesterday, bumped into a few people I know (though sadly not you Jedi!) and had a bit of a chat, but my god, it was boring!

NOTHING particularly cutting edge there, only real MTB presence was from the likes of Diamondback (showing their new range, very reminiscent of the Commencal full sus's in a good way), Trek and Specialized (who were both mainly showing road stuff too). Complete absence of just about any other major or minor players in the MTB world short of Hope and Exposure, not much to look at at all.

And though there was much bigger presence in terms of road stuff and BMX, much as I'd love one, but once you've seen one Pinarello/Condor/Colnago you've seen them all! They're immensely expensive road bikes that I can't afford...

Anyway... Back to those Diamondback's... Pay attention this year, they look VERY good, and keenly priced too!

went yesterday,pleasantly surprised,something for every one,it's a bike show,not an mtb show.
99% of exhibitors were knowledgable and friendly, more freebee Soreen than I could eat, half descent coffee,Crampus and Beargrease were there, which was nice, shame the stand was unmanned tho.....
nice to see a lot of small companies, not just Spesh and cack. 😀

To be honest there wasn't much MTB last year either. Yes Rockshox were there, but Spesh weren't last year. I enjoyed it lots of 2 wheeled stuff. The actual traders area seemed much smaller this year though.
Had a really good chat with Rory from UpGrade bikes and a good feel of the Pivot Les 29er, which is very very nice, 120mm 29er HT, hopefully get on a demo soon

I enjoyed it. Was better than expected, given the last thread on here. Certainly a good few hours spent chatting to other bike mad folk.
Highlight was seeing the Krampus in the flesh. Can't believe how light it felt. Shame they wouldn't let it out on the test track.

Did grab a couple of test rides. Electric bike was surprising, nothing like what I expected. Just felt like a normal bike but with a tailwind you could switch on & off.
Highlight for me was the Trek Rumblefish. So quick. Loved it.

But the Krampus...mmmmm
🙂

Whatever! There was a large stand displaying most of the range, don't care who it was!

We were leaving and they were just changing the display Pivot Les over. It was right by the entrance! and another on on their stand. The frame only was very light, comparable to my Scale 29er with some nifty dropouts for SS options. Pricey though

Went on Friday and thought it was marginally better than last year although no Bianchi or Pearson who were both there in 2011 with some nice stuff.

Anyone notice that seat stay/seatpost clamp arrangement on the Pinarello Dogma XC 29er?

Called into Coventry Transport Museum on the way there to see their Pedals to Medals exhibition which was really good 😀

I went because I'm not too far away and expected the worst after the threads on here and didn't think it was too bad. Agree not much MTB stuff and loads of odd stuff, but hey ho I figure if enough people go it may start to get better.

Enjoyed the showing of Where the Trail Ends - pretty good film of you like that stuff (I do). It's a mixture of the early Kranked films and Roam. With some great camera work and some crashes that made everyone whince.

Enjoyed a bit of the BMW stuff too - although that may have had more to do with Slayer and Pantera being blasted out.
