The village I live in isn't visited by "Mr Council Grit spreader", and after being inspired by a news article, got thinking about the practicalities of keeping the aged residents hips intact...

Anyone ever played about with something like the above??
I'm frequently towing "the kid" in his croozer, and shopping/wood in a load carring trailer, so have a large selection of hitches and brackets!

Any reason it wouldn't work??

Realistically, if it were streets I was gritting, I'd need to fashion a much bigger hopper too....

Easy, bolts on the outside of all doors and windows so they can't get out. That's what I've done to my mothers house every winter for the last 15 years and she's made it to 87 without any significant fractures.

there's a veritable mountain of undelivered milk on her doorstep though.. I suppose I should probably give her a phonecall to see if she's ok after all these years.. 😕

She has a cat flap for deliveries. Obviously.

You have delivery cats?

How many does it take to pull a sled with a weeks shopping for 4 from Tesco?

No, she doesn't have cats, but we tell her she has every so often and she believes it long enough to justify the existence of the cat flap.

Depends on the size of the cats, would need to be snow leopards today, in which case the answer is one.
Domestic cats, you'll need at least a dozen and good rigger for the harness. Unless you can get ginger toms in which case you can make do with 8.

Tow a grass feeder tied to the seatpost or a rear rack? Grit really needs to be ground into work though.

Well, the trailer listed has a capacity of 250lb, coupled with the weight of the trailer...say 300lbs. I'd wager that's significantly heavier than your youngster + Croozer. My guess would be that's you'd just be wheel spinning and falling off while attempting to tow a what amounts to a boat anchor up an icy street!
