Hi,
Looking for tyre advice for my Cross/Commuter bike. I don't race Cross, but do like to venture off road. But the tyres also need to roll well on tarmac, and be reasonably durable.
Currently running Landcruisers (which are OK off road except in mud, reasonably fast-rolling and durable ... but heavy!), and have had previous experience of Maxxis Raze (which I liked, but seem hard to come by in the UK). Would like something a bit more capable off road, but without sacrificing the durability and rolling ability of the LC's.
Budget ideally £10-£20 per tyre max ... you can pick up a pair of Landcruisers for just over £20, so this seems like the obvious choice, but is there something else I should consider? Smart Sam's any good for my kind of use?
Thanks ...
I use these -

I did try the kenda slant 6 ,which were ace off road ,but got too many punctures on road...yet to put gunk in me tubes.....
I've just put a pair of Landcruisers on my Giant Revolt, use it mainly for commuting but do enjoy a long jaunt if in not on the MTB and try to combine road, gravel and dirt when we do the miles.
2 trips out so far and no complaints.
I went for the 700 x 35c but I do think they do a 40c for extra chunkiness.
A pair from Halfords cost £25 although other retail outlets are available...... 😀
Conti CX Race is what I use.
