[#2923882]

I recently got myself a TCX2 CX bike but can't seem to get comfy on it. I'm not sure what's wrong, I've used my road bike as a template and all the major measurements are the same (saddle height, for-aft position, saddle to hoods etc). I'm I missing something? Should a CX bike be setup differently to a road bike? It's strange that I can't decide what's wrong, i only know that it doesn't feel right.

First measurement to set is saddle nose behind BB at correct height (assuming saddle is the same as on the road bike) then set everything else accordingly.

Probably quite a few differences in geometry between the two (seat angle, tt length etc) that you need to account for. Also pedal stack height differences.

Saddle is the same as the road bike, setting the same saddle nose-BB setback results in my knee being too far back. I can't get my head around this, different geometry or not. Maybe it's because my road bike is a Cervelo S1 which has an offset BB, still don't really understand though! Saddle height and shoe stack are ok.

Please don't take this as sarcy but its not a road bike so why set it up as one? It's probably a good starting point for you if your road bike fit is dialled but don't be scared to try other set ups. Personally i'd probably try the h'bars a bit higher and tweak as you go along. But then I'm a CX riding MTBer not a roadie.

Fair enough. The bars are a very different height, Im not trying to match everything, just the basic height reach measurements. Trial and error I guess is the answer.

had same problem had to flip the stem so the it was a 6 degree rise instead of a fall and since then its been really comfortable.

Check your hoods position too and the reach and drop of the bars.
