Hey,
looking for a CX bike for about £400 or less to burn up some miles on night rides as I'm not getting out on the Capra in the hills as I'm stuck contracting in an office at the mo.
Would like disc brakes or at least the option to fettle them on myself as I really want to stop when it's wet and dark.... Ride another day etc...
I'm also happy to go second hand, but my knowledge of these types of bikes is limited as I've always just bounced down the hills on my big mountain bikes.
Any help would be great 🙂

I had an orange RX9 CX for a while. Discs , ok spec and MTB geometry. They sometimes come up S/H on eBay/classified.
WhyteCX bikes are good value too.

I'd look for a used Boardman CX or Giant TCX. And for your money I wouldn't worry about having discs; you can always swap the fork later in the day. Look for fork crown mounted brake hanger to avoid brake judder.
what size - have a Boardman CX Comp I might be willing to part with?

*stealth add alert* Well, if you're interested in a second hand CX bike... I'm selling my Whyte Kings Cross. It has discs. And it's 1x9. And it's got a really-slack-by-cross-standards 69 degree HA. And loads of mud clearance. So you'll feel right at home on it!

On a serious not, the Whyte CX bikes are really good - only selling as I just don'y ride it due to time constraints.

I have a very nice fluro green Jake the Snake needing a new home, it does have cantis not disc but is very nice and super light.
