Hi all, anyone know the current situation as to closers of trails at Cwmcarn? Was hoping to head up this weekend, but I can’t seem to find Confirmation if both trails are back open? Also I seem to follow several Facebook pages, all of which are no updated. Is there a page I should be following for updates as to trail
Opening?

Cheers

I "think" the latest I heard on here was that Twrch is fully open and Cafell mainly closed.

Hopefully someone more informed will update soon.

That was my understanding also. Work was due to start on Cafall at the start of this month - not seen any updates since. Normally keep an eye on the MTB Ranger South Wales and MBWales FB pages..

I was there 10 days ago. Cafall was closed due to forestry work, Twrch fully open (and riding well).

I was there on Sunday and the two (edit:3) posts above are correct.

Was there at the weekend too and will be again tomorrow night. As above.

Cafal will be months based on reports from mates who’ve been for a mooch around, and I’m yet to see any evidence of work on that side of the valley yet.

I was passing the entrance last night, and a lorry loaded with logs was pulling out, so I guess work is in progress.

Felling is currently ongoing above the visitor centre. They were logging last Saturday but a few sections of Cafall are ok. For trail update see NRW website https://naturalresources.wales/days-out/places-to-visit/south-east-wales/cwmcarn-forest/?lang=en or mtb ranger South Wales on FB. Twrch is running very well however at the moment and plenty of off piste in the area
