Grantway, we went up and stayed near Cwmcarn for a night in a place called Risca, just over the hill form Cwmcarn, we planned to go biking but didnt in the end as it was mingin and just went for a walk.

Anyway, place was so nice! it was £45 a night for a garden annex self catered but might has well have been BnB the owners were so bloomin helpful, gave us so much food as a 'welcome pack' and even gave us a lift to the train station in Newport the next day just cos they were nice. It looks a little granny flattish in the photos but it really didnt feel like that, was nice and cosy, had everything you needed + local maps, good storage for bikes and a nice garden to lounge in if the weathers nice! The owners could not have been more helpful/friendly!
