When I'm sat down they're great but when I stand up it feels like they're a mile wide. So, before I get the hacksaw out...is it worth taking an inch off?

You could try it out on the bike by moving your hands inboard an inch before commiting to cutting the bars down.

Try rotating them a bit either way. The sweep on bars means it might be they're forcing your arms into a different shape stood up.

you need to jump the gun and work out what next years de rigeur bar width is going to be first

your bars should be no wider than your arse.

If you do it use a pipe-cutter.

I got one from Screwfix for about £3, much less hassle than a hacksaw.
