Does anyone know how to cut a carbon steerer tube SAFELY?! What's the right tool for the job?

Would say use a hacksaw with a nice sharp blade and go gently.

I've always used a hacksaw with no problems. Use a new blade and perhaps wrap some tape round the inside of the tube.
