There were some pics posted on here of Cut Gate last weekend that looked really good so I'm thinking of going over this weekend (coming up from darn sarf, will be doing a Rushup/Jacobs ride the other day). Obviously I'm aware that Cut Gate's pretty sensitive to the damp but I'm not sure what the weather's been like up there this week - can any locals advise if it'd be worth it or an exercise in bog-churning frustration please?
Weather dry(ish) today but plenty of rain yesterday / last night in Sheffield.
I'm only 3 or 4 miles from the north end of Cut Gate. It was throwing it down yesterday, snow and hail this morning, and raining fairly heavily through today. The tracks round about are pretty waterlogged at the minute. Personally, i won't be riding it tomorrow, but if the sun and wind we've got at the moment keep up and it doesn't rain again, well, sunday might be OK.
been sleeting on and off all afternoon, but the sun is blazing now. I'd say risk it, but start from Fairholmes and ride out towards Langsett. You can always turn round if it's too wet and do derwent edge/hagg farm or another route?
it was my vid by the way ๐

Wouldn't let me add this... you've got to be quick now haven't you?
Not been up Cut Gate for a long time (only ever been in summer) but Burbage had plenty of boggy peaty bits last week despite a dry and warmish spell of weather (I was running not biking before anyone complains) and we've had rain since then...
Anyway, what Ben said.
