has anyone ever used iron on transfers (the type where you buy the paper, print on an inkjet and then iron onto t-shirt etc) onto technical jerseys? trying to put together a couple of comedy shirts for some events this year, and thinking this might work as there is no direct contact with the iron, hence no melting material.....

costs are quite high to get someone to do it and the results aren't that amazing (heat transfer printing)

ANyone with any experience of this? I might give it a shot anyway and see what happens.

Contact gil@thecycleshed.co.uk as he prints up numerous t-shirts.

I did the iron on transfer thing onto a normal t-shirt, it peeled off after a while, but it's cheap and if you don't want a lot of use out of them it'll probably be ok.

We got some tech fabric rugby shirts printed up. Small batch, pretty cheap. We bought the shirts off the internet then supplied them to a local printer who used dye sublimation IIRC.

I'm with Mike, have a word with Gil. He's just done this years Welsh Ride Thing shirts and he also does our Forest Freeride ones too. Really easy to work with even when you know nowt like me and have a graphic designer GF who's known to be a bit of a perfectionist 😉
