[Closed] Custom Rim paint

'ello,

I have an Orange Five with standard "S" spec wheels and want to upgrade to Hope pro II/Mavic 719's. HOWEVER... I'd really like custom rim paint like Lester has on his Five

I'm still waiting for a quote from my local Orange dealer on ordering some neon red 719's straight from Orange, but I'm thinking itll be quite pricey.

Has anyone had experience of getting their rims powder coated? Where did you get it done? Anyone used Argos? If you have had it done, were your rims new when they were painted, or had they been used? Was masking off the eyelet holes a pain? Did the powder coaters do the masking?

I was thinking - Order new 719's in neon red from Orange, then buy second hand pro II hubs and new spokes and get my LBS to build up the wheels.

Thoughts? Past experiences?
