[#11081525]

Hi, my 200mm long Hollowtech II clone left crank splines worn out and needs replacing. Does anyone know where I could get them in UK? I could order form US but that's 450$ + all the duties seems far too steep.

I could change to square taper if that's more robust and cheaper. I have no problem with that, my main concern is reliability.

I'll try to pop in engineering shop today if they could recut splines and machine a thin spline shim insert.

Does anybody had any success repairing cranks?

Thanks

Hi,

cranks in 200mm length?

How tall are you? I'm interested to know why you use such long cranks.

I'm 6ft3 and use 175. I've thought of using 180 but never seen 200 before.

Good luck in your search. Maybe someone who works for maddison can help you?

I expect no one here knows more about this than the op.

Maybe Madison will get Shimano to cast a one-off tho.

I know it's American but you'll probably have more luck asking/searching on the Clydesdale/Tall forum on Mtbr.

There used to be a company (I can't remember the name) who could custom make them longer than that. But last time I looked was probably 10 years ago. So who knows if they are still trading.

You could give SJS cycles in Bridgwater a call. I doubt they carry stock but they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Could you glue them in in some way to get a decent bb worth of life out of them then just cut them out afterwards?

Zinn cycles is the company I was thinking of. Start at $325.

Or there is High Sierra Cycles

Have you tried cliff at Royce engineering? He can make most custom bike parts, not sure at what cost though.

You could try Pat @ Limit fabrications, I have seen some cranks he made on Instagram, he might be up for making a 200mm set.
