Been perfectly happy with RG2 in the past and just finished a pot of Maxima Waterproof grease, which might well be Mobil XHP 222.

Anything new and exciting to try? Any good prices on any of the above? Mobil always look the cheapest but is normally supplied by engineering suppliers that charge the same again for postage.

XHP 222 500g delivered £12 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392312562904

I'm all for new and exciting stuff, even tyre sealant, but grease is a solved problem for bike use even for me.

I had looked at that one. Seems they're decanting industrial sized containers into smaller tubs.

Bit like the XHP222 group buys that have happened here in the past.

xhp22 is superb tbh. I reckon just about any white marine grease will do the job for bikes, we're really not that bad an environment for grease, but xhp isn't any more expensive.

XHP222 here.

I slathered a load over the last set of frame bearings I fitted and it seems to have kept them marginally better for slightly longer. Maybe.

It seems to work from a waterproof proof point of view. I always grease headset bearings etc and by the time I get around to inspecting them again, the grease has usually gone white and thin but the 222 stuff seems to still be blue and sticky so I reckon that means it works.

It does smell a bit like health problems in later life though.

I've got on well with Lucas Oil X-Tra Heavy Duty green grease but my 16oz tub (it's American) is running out and I can't seem to get it anywhere, well not for a reasonable price, so I guess I'll try XHP 222.

If it's for non moving parts: dropper posts, headsets, BB cups, there's Morgan Blue Aquapaste. Good for stated application. Not good for bearings!

Morris k99. Cheap as chips, goes in all my bearings etc.  Adds a tiny bit of drag but trade that for less frequent service intervals.
