I tried 8 bike shops including my local who is a Cube dealer, he could not get a reaction. They were only available if the bike shop had pre ordered them back in October.
I got the only pro that came into the shop i bought from and had to wait 6 weeks for it to come. I did get a discount on some bits i bought and 3 years 0%, so i'm more than happy.
p.s. the bike is mega.
I just thought I would come back and update you regarding the frame failure on my Reaction GTC 29 Pro on the first ride. I mailed Cube with full details of the problem asking them to give some explanation or assurance that this would not happen again in order to persuade me to take a replacement (opposed to refund). I waited patiently but received nothing in response (other than confirmation of receipt of the message). I re-sent the message three days ago but still no reply. I checked with the bike shop who had also raised a query and they have also not had any word back.
As well over a week has now passed I take it that Cube are unable to give any explanation or promise that this was a one off. Have to say I keep reading all the posts of happy owners with some envy as I too can confirm that the bike rides superbly but I am afraid that I am not prepared to risk so much cash when Cube refuses to offer any response to fundamental failure of their frame.

Paul if you can give me an email address i can send you a direct email link to one of the Cube tech guys in Germany. He has been very good.
It must be crap but you need to give them a bit more time.
From my experience Cube can be a bit slow but have replaced a faulty frame (26) of mine - without even seeing it. Just sent them photos.
Keep us up to date on how it progresses.
Ihre Bestellung Nr. 999999 wurde vollständig versandt!
😀 😀 😀 😀
They sent a new alloy frame to my lbs with a couple of days of being notified about it being bent, they didnt see the bike and you wouldn't see the bend in photos. I've only ever heard good things about their warranty / customer service.
Refund now accepted and ti 26 er being built. Few quid more but feel a little safer with tried and trusted ti. Thanks for the offers of help and assistance but I am over carbon for an MTB frame for now.
Good luck with the titanium.
Which Ti? Elite HPT?
Just got back from LBS with my new Reaction GTC SL 29er!
What a beast if it goes half as fast as it looks then i'll be a happy chappie!
BTW the shop just got these in today and they told me they have 6 in stock so for those who have been hunting hi and low for one of these 29er's get down to Climbon Bikes in Hereford!!!
Ok first challenge already...does anyone know where I can get the technical manual for the SID RL forks the SRAM site seems to have a corrupt page. Having always had Fox forks these are new to me so want to see the specs for setup
Thanks
How are you finding the traction using the standard tyres?
Mine arrives soon and am considering buying some mud tyres.
Single track condition are very muddy here.
JPothecary - I messaged Cube via Facebook when I had the same issue for my 26 GTC Pro.

There isn't one as such. The setting are printed on the fork lowers. So depending on the sag you want between 10% and 30% will depend on the pressure you put in the top and bottom valve. My lockout is a bit pants though so it would be good to know how to adjust that.

I find the racing raplh and rock ron fine to behonest. Different tyres for different conditions and all that.

RL you can't, the T gives you the threshold adjust IIRC.
Pressure wise, try 10psi less in the -ve than the +ve, inflate the +ve first, keeping the -ve below the +ve in pressure. And bike upside down to adjust the -ve...
My lockout failed after a few rides, when applied it just hissed loudly when you pumped the forks...
LBS sorted it during it's first service though and it's still ok at the moment.
The nearest I found to a technical manual for fork set up is this: Rocshox Dual Air Tuning Guide
I've been impressed with the standard tyres so far, on a couple of occasions the Ron up front has held on when I though it was going to end badly!

Sorry for delay in reply, all time spent sourcing parts and fitting as they arrive. I now have a part built 2010 Lynskey Ridgeline LT (unmarked). Was really missing the 29er but new Revelations, full xt, reverb, hope pro 3 with stans crest and easton carbon bars are doing a pretty fine job of making me smile again. Until credit card bill comes in that is!
Still no reply from Cube on my e-mail about the frame failure (Reaction GTC 29 Pro in earlier posts). Slow is not the word.
bugcab - are you in touch with the retailer? They are the ones who should sort it out for you...
Yeah, you shouldn't be contacting cube direct, they won't respond unless your an authorised dealer.
Get in touch with the supplying dealer. Cube sorted my frame warranty super quick time through the AD.
Was out last week on mine, slowly getting used to it, bike is really good, give serious consideration to a dropper seatpost mind!!!
Took mine out for her virgin ride last night, I am very happy. Not got a lot to compare it to, but wow 😀
Retailer sent mail at the same time. No response as of last wednesday but will check back with them.
Was hoping that Cube may actually offer some kind of explanation or more importantly assurance that this is a rare/one off scenario. If they had done that I would have felt more comfortable with taking another on the basis that if it failed much later (than first ride) I would have strong grounds for replacement.
As there are many happy riders out there with no problems (including me with my cube carbon roadbike) probably not a major flaw, just a quirk in the manufacturing process of that frame.
I hope so Bugcap. None of us want somthing that is going to fall apart as soon as it hits some rough ground. I hope it gets sorted because it really is a great bike.
I have just ordered a Kronolog for mine, so will see if that will stop me spending any more money on bike bits for a while!!!! It better.
Still waiting for mine 😕
Whats the hold up?
BTW i find the tyres fine, slightly slippy on some wet rock, but i probably have slightly too much pressure in them.
Ordering from Cube, assembly at MHW in Germany, shipping to mine. To be fair, they said it would be delivered for assembly early this week so hoping they can turn it around for next week. If not, next.
Not too concerned as it's so muddy at the moment and I plan to have it as my fair weather ride 🙂
@stevewhyte - Experienced the same slippy on wet rock problem on a big climb yesterday - lots of wheelspin.
Currently running 40psi in the rear (I'm 90kg), could be time to let some air out!
My 26 Rocket Rons / Racing Ralphs aren't great in the wet - especially on roots and rocks. Light and fast but not a mud tyre!
Hoping things will dry out a bit and I will ride the standard tyres (when the bike finally arrives!) until autumn.
Hear Mud X's are good in 29.
well happy was going to go for the GTC pro but had a quick look around and managed to grab a GTC SL the only 1 the shop had in stock it is turning up tuesday 😀
Just got mine from Cycle Surgery but decided not to take it out in the mud today. Those Schwalbes definitely look like Summer tyres.
At 5'9.5" I still feel too tall for the 17" and too short for the 19" though.
I got the 19" i am 5ft 10 and have fairly long legs could you not of run a shorter stem on the 19 ? I noticed they spec them with longish stems and short bars.
Yes got a 90mm stem, might change for a 70mm as i feel its a slight stretch to the bars comparedt to my 805.
The tyres can cope with more than you think, i get the impression that you can run them slightly lower than 26" tyres.
I might try 35psi next time i am out.
anyone converted them to tubeless yet?
Wold be interested to know as well. Usually dt swiss are ok with just stans tape ...
Had delivery this morning from stif and am in love with it only got a chance to try the pro in the shop but opted for the SL in the end as i found it in stock. Exspected the cassette etc to be lower grade than xt but to my suprise its all xt which put a smile on my face. Only had a quick 20 mins spin as i am off out tonight but intial impressions are its fantastic. Its alot more comfortable than my carbon 456 on the rear and very quick. The position even with the long stem does not feel to streched out but then i have not ridden anything steep yet.
Bring on saturday for the first proper ride .
Well my bike has finally arrived today. A lot of hassle and pour communication from MHW. Cost £1585 including shipping but it has arrived with a few problems. The front gear cable wasn't set up right - massive overhand under the bottom bracket. Spent hours trying to replace it today. If anyone has some tricks on how to change the cables, please let me know.
Other (minor) problems include no chain stay protector, missing helicopter tape on the left side of the steerer tube, no jam nuts on the inner tube valves and poorly set up brakes - the bite point is too late and the adjuster barrels are screwed as far in as possible.
Nightmare! Pretty pissed with the whole thing. Have emailed them asking for compensation so I can sort it out at my LBS.
Sorry to here your having problems. Pretty sure they only tape the downtube and behind the seat tube the rest is down to you
Im glad i bought from a decent bike shop.
Couldn't resist the temptation and took it out in the muddy woods on Monday. Absolutely no problems with the tyres or with the length of the size L frame / stem, and was noticeably faster than my 26" bikes. Still going to convert to tubeless when I get a minute.
I also didn't get a chain stay protector, jam nuts, or taped steerer tube, but I didn't see any of that as an issue or really think of them as missing.
Cycle Surgery in Kings Cross did a great job of sourcing, building and delivering for me, when my LBS could not get stock.
Why would you want jam nuts? Mine doesnt have them.
Also the only tape on mine is on the downtube.
And i bought a nice Endura chain stay protector from my LBS.
Anyone got an update on if the dt Swiss rims convert ok yet?
£1585 for what spec :-S ... I got my GTC SL for £1630 from my LBS without all the hassle of buying it from oversea and having no real comeback if it's breaks... I hate to think what sorting a warranty issue out would be like with an overseas shop... Nightmare.
Really interested to head about stans / no tubes conversion... Aiming to do the end2end in sub 3 hrs this year so would prefer not to loose 10 / 15 minutes fixing my tyre at the side of a trail.
I emailed Cube and he said that the rims on my Pro would be fine for conversion using tape.
Im still amazed at the top quaility Evo tyres and general components.
Im just not getting out enough, every day would be good.
