[#3879543]

Doing a bit of touring in a few weeks and looking to put mudguards on my disc braked 700c cross bike Will be running 35c slicks and with the discs not sure fitting the roadracer will be the best product or if it will work.

Any alternatives out there I can look at esp for a similar money....

I used some bog standard road guards. Mine were Raleigh badged and sub 20 quid. A bit of bending around the disc fittings but dead easy. They have the benefit of offering decent coverage.

SKS raceblades will fit bikes without mudguard bosses, they attach to your fork and seat stays. Get the extra-wide ones

35c to wide for road racers but as other have said bog standard sks etc can be fitted with a bit of careful bendiong round the caliper, worked a treat on my croix de fer.

Zefal do a really good, long clip on guard called the Swan R I think, much better connection to the seatpost than the likes of Crud, secure, and offered pretty good coverage. Think they also do their classic guard which extends down towards the BB area too.

As I haven't got any bosses to attach the mudguards to I found and ordered some SKS race blade xl's for £20 yesterday from fudge cycles - free postage and already on there way. Excellent service so far.

I'd go full length if you plan on actually riding in the rain.

I echo cynci-al on the length. I had race blades on a commuter and I might as well have not bothered.
