I don't use crudcatchers any more as the front ones aren't very effective (nor are any other downtube guards) and they ruined the rear one when they redesigned it 🙁 So just now using SKS Shockboards or Muckynuts Bender fenders on the front, and when I use a rear one it's a Cycraguard- not as nice as the Crud but stays where it's put.
(I did rebuild the fixing mechanism on my crudcatcher so that it works properly, but I can't help but think you shouldn't need a lathe to fit a mudguard)
I got mocked for this but I was riding with no glasses all day on swampy innerleithen enduro trails while other folks were complaining of visibility problems, mud on goggles, etc. Crown guards- they work.
