Is it a new trend to put the front one on upside down, so the large bit with the rubber surround is at the bottom?

Saw two bikes like this yesterday - both with white crud catchers.

Not that I'm aware of, but it's not winter yet, so mudguards don't need to be on yet ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did see someone yesterday with a front wheel mudguard (the kind that clamps under the fork crown) on back to front... quite how the rider thought it was the right way round I've no idea.

Probably just people vainly trying to get them to make any significant difference.

if you put them on upside-down then the soft rubber bit is closest your shins so maybe they think its a safety thing.

One was on - wait for it - a Lincoln.

It was on the train and the clueless guy missed his stop for Clapham and had to go to Waterloo and turn round, even though Clapham was the only stop between Woking and Waterloo. At least that is what he told the guard...

The other was only a Specialised rockhopper in London.
