Anyone know if I can use a split crown race from a Hope 1.5 Headset on a FSA 57e Headset (where the original crown race wasnt split)?
Can't find a spare anywhere and I'm supposed to be riding on Sun!
take the bearing out and see how it sits on the race if it seems OK I think I'd go for it - if you damage something I imagine it'll "only" be the bearing

The split only makes it easier to install and remove. If the shape of the race works with the bearing and lower cup, you'll be fine.
As long as the bearing sits ok on the race you'll be fine.
My Thorn has a headset made up of random bits of several found in the shed/toolbox. Crown race definately from a different headset to lower cup/bering but still working fine.
