[#5515646]

Are V brake pads and Cantilever brake pads all the same thing, is the attachment method (threaded bar, cartridge, non-threaded), the only bit I need to worry about?

Next, am I going to see any performance differences?
Will be racing cyclocross in the muddy East Midlands, at a relatively high level.

As in less than a quid each - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-essential-v-brake-pads-pack-of-4/
Or £3'ish each - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ashima-v-brake-3-function-one-piece-brake-shoepad/

Cheers 🙂

Depends which canti's you are running, TRP and Avid run road bike brake pads. Best I've found so far are the BBB bue's work well in the wet, only gripe is they wear quickly but I can put up with that for wet braking performance.

Shall give BBB's a go (the power of internet advertising, eh) - http://www.tredz.co.uk/.BBB-BBS-16-TriStop-Brake-Pads_60334.htm - these boys seem good value, £10 for two pairs and they're all high tech looking.

I am using kool stop salmon pads, they work pretty well and seem to keep the water off of the rim.
