So, i've done about 8 commutes (200 miles) on the cross bike so far.
Noticed last night that I've lost a couple of points off teeth on the big ring and it's so bent that I couldn't use it until I got a spanner onto it.
I think it happenned on the track from Hillend to Swanston, but could have been on Maidens.
So - I'm thinking of putting a bash on it.
Are there any light bash guards for the BCD of a compact road chainset?
Is it just a daft idea?
The original "Rock Ring" was 110 BCD IIRC and would have done 48T, worth a google/ebay.

doof_doof - just the job there
I'll see if I use the big ring on the roads over the next few weeks and if not then a bbg guard will go on
I would get the thicker bbg bashguard as I used the thinner one and it bashed (i.e bent/squashed) very easily.
