At just under 6 feet tall I think I need a 56cm CdF

Any reason to consider a 58cm?

Sounds about right, I'm 5'11" (well 5'10.5") and 56cm would be right for me. My road bike has an ETT of 565mm as a comparison.

Im 6ft and on a 56 Equilibrium which fits very well. I'd think the CdF is similar.

I'm a smidge under 6' and my 56cm frame is perfect for me. I tried a 58 and it felt too stretched.

I'm a smidge over 6' and I rode both a 56 and a 58 before settling on 56. Both would have been fine on the road but some people will recommend undersizing a cx bike for more 'chuckability' (I hate that word).

P.S. Have you seen this? http://www.wheelbase.co.uk/genesis-croix-de-fer-20-2015.html
