Critique my bike packing plan - Salter Fell Rd

Something I've wanted to do for a while but the plan is to ride from home in E. Lancs to Slaidburn late aft to early evening and have a beer and ideally have some grub at the Hark to Bounty. Then head down the back lanes onto Salter Fell Rd and have a trundle along there to find a quiet, flat spot to kip for the night. I'll use my hooped bivvy bag. I want to be off the track to avoid any late motorcyclists or gamekeepers etc. Break camp at dawn and carry on to Wray and then on towards Grange over Sands to find a cafe that opens early.

Anyone wild camped up there or know of/ have spotted a likely spot ? Anything important I should be aware of?

Never camped up there but have been escorted off the adjacent tracks by some very acertive gamekeepers when I claimed that I was ‘lost’ …. my experience is that the gamekeepers are very keen to keep people off their land so you’ll need to be very stealthy

its a shame because there are miles and miles of land rover tracks over those hills and fells that would be great for trundling along.

Duchy of Lancaster so wild camping might not be so easy.

Thinking about it, I’d be more inclined to push on towards Silverdale, there’s plenty of secluded bivvy spots along the coast there (head back in the direction of Leighton Moss and jump over the wall) plus the views of sunset are pretty good

Good tips, I live near the Wray end and was planning a ride up from Wray, lucky escape from the gamekeepers.  The sausage rolls at higginsons in grange are worth a detour.

Some nice lanes around Levens, though I usually go north from there, you want the west ones.
