[#511457]

Raised my seatpost this morning only by about 40mm and as I was commuting the creaks and knocking noises we're unbelieveable. Thought it was bb at first it was so noisey but then realised when out of saddle there was no noise so lowered saddle back down and its now silent again.

Anyone got a logical explanation as to why all the noises? Seatpost was a fair bit below maximum level when raised.

Crap in the seat tube. Crap in the seatpost clamp. Crap where the rails go into the saddle. The answer is probably crap. 🙂

Also you could have a bent saddle rail, in which case it's new saddle time. 😐

Is it well above the minimum insert mark when it's creaking?

Dismantle fully, check for cracks and clean everything thoroughly then reassemble snugly and try again.

hope it's OK
