Hi STW peeps, I am looking for some help as I believe I have tried everything to stop the creaking and it comes back after every wet ride.

I have a old (2000 to 2008, year unknown as 2nd hand of a mate)Easton EA50 post. After every wet ride and then when Iride in the dry the post starts to creak. It creaks only when I am in the saddle and the creaking is coming from the rails. I have stripped it a number of time and tried both with grease and without and still no joy. Next thing I am thinking of doing is cutting up a old tube and fit that to the rails and bracket.

Has anyone done something like this or does anyone have any other options.

Thanks

Is it defo the seat post where it attaches to the rails? I'm wondering if it could be the saddle it's self?

Looking at my saddle the rails are seated into plastic, maybe its this connection you could try putting some kind of lube in. Never had this problem so just an idea!

Try putting a bit of plumbers tape on the bolts and tighten them up.
Worked for an old saddle I had.

My Easton EA70 post started creaking/clicking recently. No amount of cleaning and greasing would stop it. Turns out the head had come un bonded from the post.
Fixed it by buying a Thomson!
