CRC ๐Ÿ™‚

Ordered from both online stores on the same day (within minutes of each other), selected the free post option for both orders... CRC arrived 2 days later, still waiting on JE James a week on ๐Ÿ™

The particularly annoying thing is that the grips I ordered from JE James were back in stock at CRC the next day (I only split the order as CRC were showing out of stock with no restock date indicated)... so I'd most likely have them by now if I'd waited a day! grrrrrr ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Well that was very unexciting - thought it would be something you didn't expect.

Its a bit of an unfair comparison though really (as much as i don't like JE James!!), CRC are a purpose made mail order outfit while JE James are three shops that do a bit of mail order as well.

I'd argue that it's perfectly fair on the basis that JEJ make their website look like they do specialty mail order. After all there are some other shops which manage to combine the two in a perfectly functional way.

I find Merlin, Bonthrone and Wiggle generally quite a bit quicker than CRC - not that CRC have been unreliable in any way. I guess its nice to have a choice.

superstar have always been the fastest for me (And you get sweets), then merlin and crc. Always avoid JEJ, the online prices are way too steep.

I ordered a headset from JEJ 10 days ago - it was shown as being in stock. It still hasn't been posted yet and I still haven't been told when/if it will.

I have used them before and most times they were fine but this is a joke. I'd cancel the order if they would respond to emails but they don't so I guess i'll just have to hang in there. ๐Ÿ™„

CRC, Merlin and Wiggle have never let me down and Wiggle sometimes give you free sweeties. Mmmmm, Haribo. ๐Ÿ˜†

CRC have a shop and indeed started out 25 years ago as a shop.

I guess all the things I remember JE James writing up on here about how they were going to improve there crappy, shoddy service, was just just good old rhetoric.

The worst shop ever either online or in person.

"respond to emails"
you'll be lucky, they're incapable of responding to even a pleasant greating when potential customers walk into their shop. Right up there for having the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm on about the Rotherham branch, by the way. Can't speak for the other shops.

@ Trail-Blazer - can you email forums@jejamescycles.com with your post code from your account and i'll look into this issue for you.

In reply to that comment our customer service has improved dramatically but unfortunately as with every retailer, issue's always arise.

By me being here this means i get the opportunity to rectify the error/situation therefore offering a better service.

I don't see many other retailers doing the same?

@Paul@RTW if you would like to email forums@jejamescycles.com with your experience when shopping at the Rotherham branch i would be very appreciative.

If any of you have issues re service you received either instore or online then please email me on forums@jejamescycles.com and i will look into the issue as a matter of urgency.

@Pook - thanks for the positive feedback!

JEJ

sigmaf

More info please!!

I'd class JE James as middle of the road. I like Just Riding Along even though I can't afford to buy anything, they're just excellent in customer services and willing to take the time out - top class. But of course, they only do wheels!

@jontawn - can't really say too much at the moment, but early March should see a new, smaller, rider owned and customer/service focused shop.....with good coffee!!

CRC are excellent right through
and JE James very slow. I had to wait a week
for an instore item ?

I find CRC the quickest and Wiggle not far behind. In fairness, this week was the first time I used JEJ on the web, rim was cheaper than the others and in stock and although I went for freepost and it says that this will take longer the rim was posted within 36 hours and delivered the following day all with emailed tracking info. Wouldn't worry about using them again if the deal is right.

I'm afraid JEJames is the worst online store I have ever used of any kind. It takes 2 weeks to be told that things shown as in stock are actually unavailable and never will be. Other times they just send out the wrong item. There is no point trying to email them. Of 4 or 5 orders, 0 have been correct. The only good thing is the price, but I really can't be bothered any more... and they have a more than slightly irritating message when in the call queue.

On the other hand CRC and Wiggle are some of the best. Often arrives next day on free delivery and very helpful with questions.

Thanks for helping to sort out my woes. I know which email to use next time if things go awry again. In the interests of balance, I have to say that the item in question was 33% cheaper than the other stores that have been mentioned in this thread. Just a shame there was a problem with this order. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Any store that is prepared to come onto this forum and get flamed can't be too bad. At least they're trying.
