Hi, i not so long ago, maybe 6 months, went 2x10. I had it all put on by the LBS as i need it sorted and running well for a Wales trip.
So anyway, I'm wanting to put a MRP 2X on and can't for the life of me get the ****ing crankset off!
Its and Truvativ X9 GXP crankset.
I can remove the non drive side arm off no problem but cannot remove the drive side. Ive tried giving the spindle a "bash" with a rubber mallet but the thing won't move!
Am i missing something simple, has anyone got and advice (useful please;) or has anyone had the same problem?
cheers, chris

yeah i had those on mine with a Hope bottom bracket and the fit is pretty tight with the GXP adapter on the hopes, the months of grit and water had got in, especially if you've used a jet wash and i suspect that the grease is no longer, so you may need a bigger 'bash' with a rubber mallet it shoudl come loose.

sounds silly but have you made sure the bike frame doesn't move when you bash it with the mallet as that will take the power out of the hit
