[Closed] Crank Spline fix with toothpaste tube slither

I thought this is worth a mention and apologies if its in the wrong forum

I had 'dead' spots when pedaling at the top of the pedal stroke on each side and yup it turned out my Race Face Evolve crank splines weren't tight anymore. I could play them by holding them and moving in opposing directions

Just before I was going to spend £125 on new SLX cranks a friend told me if I jam a slither of toothpaste tube and persuade the cranks to go back together it would work and YES it did 🙂

Saved me £125 and if I have to re-do it every month or two then so what

I have heard a Coke can slither would work too and be more durable

Anyway I'm passing this on in case it saves someone else quite a bit of dosh
