Morning Folks,
I am in need of a new chainset.
I currently have a Truvativ Firex Team. The external BB is on its way out and the better "upgrade" replacement options don't all seem Truvativ compatible.
Added to the fact that the chainset was a steal when I bought it means a replacement BB will in some case be more than I paid for the entire chainset 😡
So contemplating going the whole hog and replacing the lot.
Chainset will be for a Soul running all three rings.
I currently use a couple of Middleburn RS7 & RS8's but fancy sticking with the external BB jobies.
Any recommendations?
Any to avoid?
SLX. Steel middle and granny last for ages longer than alu rings. Lots of BB options too. The Shimano BB above deore are OK too. It's not bling though!

The chainrings are fairly good and you get a BB - That said FSA BB are no better or worse that shimano IMHO (make sure you check if you get all the o-rings if you buy it as that can seriously recude the longevity - I retrofitted mine).
