I managed to acquire a set of second hand Shimano Brifters so I can go hydraulic on my Amazon. Now looking at gearing options. Initially I was looking at GRX cranks and a suitable cassette but I reckon I might stick with a compact (50/34), a 40T cassette and, if necessary, a Wolftooth Roadlink (lots of suggestions this won't be needed). Thing is, it's a Ti bike and I think the black cranks would look ugly on it, so I'm looking at 105 series. The dilemma then is - 5800 or R7000? R7000 looks a bit "blocky" for a thin-tubed bike frame.

I've got black R8000 on my tripster and don't really notice the blockiness. Quite like the black, but the rest of the finishing kit and forks are black too.
