Anyone running crank boots on m8100 cranks? Had a few pedal/rock strikes today and want to fit some. Bought some racface ones and they wont slide on far enough to clear the pedal hole, they're a bit tight......

Zefal ones are pretty poor quality vs the RF.

I just got All Mountain ones.....no idea if they will fit yet but I just trimmed the RF ones that I had so that they did work - - and pop them in some hot water to help a but too 🙂

Dont get the super cheap ones. I got some and they ripped off after the 2nd rock strike.

Just don’t bother as alloy cranks don’t need socks?

Agree, crank boots are pointless on alloy cranks.

I'm running the raceface ones on 2 sets of these cranks.

There are 2 different sizes of the raceface crank boots, but I think the larger ones are for the SRAM carbon cranks?

Mine were a snug fit - required some pressure to get them fully seated.

they’re a bit tight……

Can you heat them? Leave them in very hot water and then force them on?

Raceface ones fit fine on my M8100's - just have to push them on a bit harder. They don't clear the pedal hole perfectly, but enough to fit my pedals without them getting snagged.
