Building a bike for a mate and when it was all put together and I was doing the gearing I noticed that the chain was hooking up on the 2nd sprocket (it's a 2x10 setup)
I thought it might be chain-line so took a BB spacer from the non-drive side and put it onto the drive side but now I can't get the crankarm axle to go all the way through the BB, what have I done?

Aha I've discovered my issue, I've accidentally replaced the crank end cap that draws the 2 crankarms together with another older one that was on my shelf and it wasn't long enough.
Looking at it, it's probably a bad idea to put 3 spacers onto the driveside cup anyway cos it'll put too much stress on the threads on that cup. I'll have to fiddle with the gearing.
